When Jesus says, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s,” he invites us to think deeply about allegiance. The coin may bear Caesar’s image, but every person bears the image of God.
In a divided and polarized world, Christians are called to something deeper than political avoidance or political idolatry. Our first allegiance belongs to Christ. That allegiance should make us more humble, more discerning, more compassionate, and more courageous.
This message will explore how to engage public life without being captured by fear, outrage, party loyalty, or the illusion that any political power can save us.
