Quick and Easy Steps:
In just 5 minutes, you can do something meaningful to help the less fortunate in our community. Here’s how…
1. Do (one or more) of the following:
- Ask your kids to choose one or two gently used books that they no longer read
- Grab a pack of unopened diapers from your changing area
- Look through your closet for 5-10 articles of clothing that you haven’t worn in the past couple of months
2. Bag up your items and put them by the door or in your car so you’ll see them the next time you run an errand.
3. When you’re out and about, drop your items by Floris UMC–we’re conveniently located at 13600 Frying Pan Rd.
Thank You
We rely on the generosity of people like you to provide assistance to those in need. May God bless your generosity.

Floris UMC depends on donated items from our congregation and friends in the community to serve the hungry, homeless and poor in and around Herndon. We promise to be good stewards of your gifts by supplying them, at no cost, directly to those who need them most. While there are many organizations ready and willing to accept your donations, we appreciate your partnering with us to bring these items to those in need in our community.
Goods donated to Floris UMC are distributed to the community through a variety of channels:
- GRACE Ministries: Grace Ministries offers food clothing and diapers to families in need.
- Help Hungry Kids Program: This program serves students at Hutchison and McNair Elementary Schools.
All donated goods are tax deductible as allowed by the IRS and state tax code. You may obtain a receipt for tax purposes when you drop off your donations.
Floris UMC is currently unable to accept other sorts of donated goods as part of our ongoing charitable programs. We do sometimes hold special drives to collect relief items when natural disasters or other tragedies strike. You can learn about these efforts by checking our website regularly.
